Terms of Use

Last updated: Version 1.1.0

These Terms explain what educa.codes offers, what we expect from you and what your rights are. We wrote them in plain language on purpose: if anything is unclear, email hey@educacodes.com and we will explain it.

Under legal review

Document under legal review. Fields marked [PLACEHOLDER: …] are waiting on official data and will be filled in before store publication.

1.What educa.codes is

educa.codes is a programming learning app. It delivers interactive lessons, exercises, spaced practice, achievements and progress tracking. It is an educational service: it supports your learning, but it does not promise a job, income, professional certification, exam results or any other specific outcome.

These Terms apply to the app, to this website and to any feature that requires acceptance. By creating an account or using those features, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

The service is operated by ANDERSON DE ALMEIDA MELO TECNOLOGIA DA INFORMACAO LTDA, a company registered in Brazil under company number (CNPJ) 53.137.423/0001-14, with its registered office at [PLACEHOLDER: FULL ADDRESS]. Contact: hey@educacodes.com.

Available courses, features and limits vary by plan, country, age, device and rollout stage. We may fix errors, update the curriculum and replace content versions, preserving your progress history whenever possible.

2.Account, minimum age and guardians

Most features require an account. Provide accurate information, protect your credentials and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not sell, lend or share your account.

The minimum age to create an account is [PLACEHOLDER: MINIMUM AGE], subject to the rules of your country and to the app store rating. Social features may require a higher age, additional confirmation or guardian authorisation.

In Brazil, processing children's data requires specific, prominent consent from at least one parent or legal guardian (LGPD, art. 14). Where local law requires it, the guardian confirms they have authority to give that consent and may withdraw it, manage account permissions and request deletion of the data.

We may limit or disable features by country, age band or risk. Do not encourage or use a false age to get around protections — if we find an account below the permitted age, we restrict the service and delete or anonymise the data as applicable law requires.

3.Educational content and practice environments

Lessons combine animated explanation, code executed step by step and retrieval questions. Grading and progression are decided by versioned service rules — not by loose AI-generated text.

Exercises include simulated or isolated terminals and editors, with time, quota and network limits. They exist for learning.

Educational content can contain mistakes. If you find one, email hey@educacodes.com: a published teaching error is a serious bug for us and goes straight into the fix queue.

  • Do not use practice environments to attack third parties, mine cryptocurrency, scrape unlawfully, break out of the sandbox or run malicious code.
  • Do not submit secrets, credentials, identity documents, unnecessary personal data or third-party material you are not allowed to use.
  • Review any code or output before using it outside the app — including anything produced with AI assistance.

4.What you submit stays yours

You keep the rights you already hold in the code, answers and artefacts you submit. We do not claim ownership of your work.

You grant us a limited licence to host, process, grade, display back to you and run that material solely to provide, protect and improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep for legal obligations, security or a dispute.

We do not use your private code or your free-text answers to train third-party models.

5.Private social: connections, milestones and reporting

The social space in educa.codes is deliberately small. It exists so you can follow the progress of people you already know, not to become an open network.

Profiles are private by default. Connecting requires a request and an acceptance. We do not offer chat, comments, groups, free posting, contact syncing or an infinite feed.

You can remove a connection, mute milestones, block and report at any time, right inside the app. Blocking does not notify the other person.

  • Harassment, threats, discrimination, impersonation, sexualising minors, attempts to obtain personal data and using the community for fraud are prohibited.
  • Manipulating XP or rankings, automating invitations, exploiting bugs and coordinating abuse are prohibited.
  • We may restrict visibility, replace a name or avatar, suspend social features or terminate accounts, in proportion to the severity and to applicable law.
  • An emergency is not an app matter: contact your local emergency service. educa.codes is not an emergency channel.

6.Plans, subscriptions and app stores

Part of the content is free. Paid features are offered as a subscription or a one-off purchase. Price, billing period, currency, trial period and benefits are shown before you confirm.

On mobile, purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The store charges, renews and refunds under its own rules — we never receive your full card number.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You cancel in your store account settings, and cancellation applies to future renewals: you normally keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, unless there is a refund, fraud or a legal requirement.

Restoring purchases requires being signed in to the same store account used for the original purchase. If something does not reconcile, email hey@educacodes.com with the receipt and we will sort it out.

Losing paid access does not erase your progress: your learning history stays on the account, and paid content becomes available again if you resubscribe.

7.Intellectual property and permitted use

The app, the design, the original curriculum, the illustrations, the mascot, the trademarks and the software belong to educa.codes or its licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the service under these Terms.

You may not copy or redistribute content at scale, resell access, remove rights notices, bypass paywalls or quotas, interfere with the operation of the service, use abusive automation or reverse engineer beyond what the law allows.

8.Moderation, suspension and appeal

We may investigate reports, preserve only the evidence that is necessary and take proportionate measures — from a warning to suspending features or terminating the account.

Where there is urgent risk, fraud, a threat to security, exploitation of minors or a legal obligation, action may be immediate.

Where appropriate, we tell you the reason and the appeal channel, without revealing the reporter's identity, third-party data or details that would help someone bypass safety measures.

9.Availability, changes and termination

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, store updates and third-party issues can cause downtime.

We may change or discontinue features. When a change is material and affects a paid service, we give reasonable notice, unless there is a security or legal urgency.

You can close your account from within the app. Note: deleting the account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by the store — cancel it in the App Store or Google Play as well.

Some information may be retained for as long as needed to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, keep the service secure, defend rights in a dispute and honour opt-out requests.

10.Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is and as available.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights the law grants to consumers, nor excludes liability that cannot be limited — including the guarantees of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code and any mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction.

Specific liability caps and indemnity rules will be adapted by a lawyer for each launch market. [PLACEHOLDER: LIABILITY LIMITATION CLAUSE PER JURISDICTION]

11.Third-party trademarks and services

Apple, App Store, Google, Google Play, TikTok and other names and logos mentioned belong to their respective owners. We use those marks only to identify the corresponding store, platform or channel.

Mentioning a third-party brand does not imply sponsorship, partnership or endorsement. educa.codes is not affiliated with Apple Inc., Google LLC or any other owner mentioned, unless we expressly say otherwise.

Languages, libraries and tools taught in the lessons belong to their respective communities and licensors, and are referenced for educational purposes.

12.Changes, governing law and contact

We may update these Terms. The last-updated date is always at the top of this page, and the current version is published here and in the app. A material change gets notice and, where required, renewed acceptance.

These Terms are governed by Brazilian law. The chosen forum is [PLACEHOLDER: FORUM], without prejudice to a consumer's right to sue in their own place of domicile or to the mandatory rights of your jurisdiction.
